Trump, Melania Vote in Person as Florida Opens Early Voting

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump cast their ballots in person in Palm Beach County, Florida, on Saturday, the first day of early voting in the state and 10 days before the Nov. 3 midterm elections, according to Fox News and the Italian news agency ANSA.

Fox News reported that the president visited a Palm Beach County voting location and then spoke with reporters alongside the first lady. Asked about his vote, Trump said everything was “good,” according to Fox News. One America News posted video on X of the couple arriving to vote.

The in-person trip marks a change from how the president has voted in recent cycles. CBS News reported Friday, citing a White House official, that the Trumps planned to vote early and in person, noting that Trump has voted by mail in recent elections even as he has criticized widespread mail-in voting. Local station CBS12 reported that Trump voted by mail in a Palm Beach County special election for a state House seat in March, according to county Supervisor of Elections records.

Florida’s early voting period runs from Oct. 24 through Oct. 31, according to CBS News. WPBF reported that the president flew to Palm Beach from Fort Myers on Friday afternoon specifically to cast his ballot Saturday, and that the Town of Palm Beach closed a stretch of South Ocean Boulevard while he is in town.

A busy gaggle on the way to Georgia

Before leaving Florida, the president took a wide range of questions from reporters, according to video posted on X by the White House’s Rapid Response account and by TheBlaze.

Asked how far along the administration is on a possible attack on Iran, Trump declined to share details, then said, “There’s a possibility I will. There’s also a possibility we’ll have a nice, big, beautiful agreement. They want to make a deal, but the problem is will they hold the deal?” according to the Rapid Response 47 video.

The president also pointed to unrest in Europe as a warning about the left’s direction at home. “Just take a look at France because that’s what they’d like to have for our country — and I don’t let that happen,” Trump said, according to Rapid Response 47. Fox News reported Saturday that nearly 1,000 people were arrested across France as a Paris march turned violent.

When a Wall Street Journal reporter raised allegations against the administration, Trump asked who the reporter wrote for and then said, “WSJ has lost its way. There’s massive corruption you don’t cover on the Democrat side,” according to video posted by TheBlaze.

Next stop: Perry, Georgia

From Florida, the president headed to a Saturday night rally at Guardian Centers in Perry, Georgia, for Republican Senate candidate Rep. Mike Collins and gubernatorial candidate Rick Jackson, according to Fox News and 41NBC. The rally was moved from Macon to Perry, 41NBC reported, with Trump expected to speak at 7 p.m. Eastern.

Fox News reported that Trump is scheduled to rally in Port Huron, Michigan, on Sunday as he steps up appearances across the country in the final stretch before Election Day.

By casting his own ballot on the first day of early voting, the president sent a clear message to Republican voters in Florida and beyond: don’t wait.
