About Daily Beltway
Daily Beltway is an independent news and commentary outlet covering the White House, Congress and the federal government from a conservative perspective. It is founded, edited and reported by Tom McCullagh, a credentialed White House correspondent who holds a White House hard pass and reports from the briefing room, the North Lawn and Capitol Hill.
We are independently owned. No corporation, political party, campaign or committee owns any part of Daily Beltway or directs its coverage. The site is supported by readers, by advertising and by our merchandise store.
What we cover
Daily coverage of the administration, congressional votes and investigations, border security, national security, the economy and the culture fights that shape federal policy — plus clearly labeled opinion. Most stories are published as a video report and a written article, so you can watch the primary clip and read the reporting around it.
How we report
- Primary sources first. Our stories are built on the original video, the on-record statement, the court filing, the vote tally or the agency document — and we embed or link it so you can check it yourself.
- Named people, named agencies, named outlets. We identify who said what. We do not publish claims from unnamed sources we cannot stand behind.
- Reporting and opinion are labeled. Opinion pieces run under the Opinion category. Everything else is meant to be reporting and analysis of the record.
- Corrections are public. When we get something wrong we fix it in the article, note the change, and say so. Details are in our Editorial Standards & Corrections policy.
