Border Czar Homan Tells Mayor Mamdani ICE Operations Will Surge Into New York Sanctuary City
Border Czar Tom Homan delivered a direct warning to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani: federal immigration enforcement operations will expand in the city and across every sanctuary jurisdiction in the republic, regardless of local resistance.
Speaking on Fox News’ The Story, Homan made clear that ICE deportation operations targeting criminal aliens remain a top priority and will intensify with additional resources directed at areas where local policies obstruct enforcement.
🚨 NO RETREAT: Border Czar Tom Homan sent a direct message to NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani: ICE operations ARE NOT stopping!
"He's not going to stop us from doing our job in NYC or ANY sanctuary city!"

Homan pointed to his record as ICE director, when agents removed 5,000 criminals from New York streets. He contrasted cooperation from law enforcement in Florida and Texas — where sheriffs do not release public safety threats — with New York’s continued refusal to honor federal detainers.
The border czar explained the rationale for surging resources into sanctuary cities. A year ago he promised to send more agents where problems are most acute. That promise is now policy.
Homan highlighted strong support from rank-and-file NYPD officers. He said every uniformed officer he meets expresses willingness to assist ICE operations because they understand the mission focuses on removing criminals and making neighborhoods safer.
Street cops are frustrated, Homan said, by the cycle of arresting the same criminal aliens over and over. Collaboration with ICE allows local police to focus on other neighborhood crimes while federal agents handle deportations.
Homan also noted the limited response from city leadership after an off-duty detective was stabbed seven times by two illegal immigrants.
The comments come as Mayor Mamdani and more than 100 elected officials urged private parking lot and garage owners to refuse space to ICE agents. City laws already restrict ICE activity on public property. The latest effort seeks to extend that barrier to private facilities.
An earlier ICE enforcement action in the Bronx involving Oscar Belgal has been cited in local criticism of federal operations. Details of that encounter remain disputed.
Homan made clear that resistance from city hall will not alter federal enforcement plans. The NYPD supports ICE efforts, federal law will be enforced, and the focus remains on putting Americans first.
Sanctuary policies release violent criminals back onto the streets instead of turning them over to federal authorities. That creates the exact conditions that require a surge in ICE resources.
New York continues to be a magnet for illegal immigration because local leaders signal that federal law will not be enforced. The border czar is sending the opposite message: ICE will do its job in New York and every sanctuary city across the country.
The conflict between federal enforcement and sanctuary obstruction is intensifying. Federal agents have the legal authority and the mandate to carry out deportations. Local officials are choosing political posturing over public safety.
Rank-and-file officers understand the stakes. They want to work with ICE because they see the same criminals cycling through the system. Federal collaboration means criminals are removed from the country, not just the neighborhood.
Mamdani’s effort to mobilize private property owners against ICE is the latest escalation in a standoff that has been building for months. The mayor has already defended criminal aliens and called for abolishing ICE after the Bronx shooting.
Homan’s response leaves no room for negotiation. ICE operations are expanding, not retreating. Sanctuary policies will be met with more agents, not fewer. The rule of law will be enforced, and the safety of American citizens will come first.
