Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar is refusing to hand over documents tied to a massive fraud scandal—and now a convicted fraudster is saying Omar knew about it all along.
Aimee Bock, the mastermind behind the $250 million Feeding Our Future fraud scheme, revealed that Omar’s name and office appeared multiple times in communications connected to the case. Court records show Omar’s name surfaced at least six times in evidence used to convict Bock on wire fraud conspiracy and bribery charges.
The scandal involved the theft of federal funds meant to feed children. Instead, the money was diverted through a network of fraudulent meal programs serving Minnesota’s Somali community.

Omar missed the Tuesday deadline set by Minnesota Republicans to turn over records related to the fraud. Democrats in the state legislature blocked efforts to issue a subpoena that would have forced her cooperation.
Emails from early 2021 document the contacts between Bock and Omar’s office. One February message carried the subject line “help with USDA food program” and went directly to Omar’s office. Weeks later, another email arrived with the subject line “FNS approves Minnesota school P.E.B.T. plan.” Additional messages between Bock and a Feeding Our Future employee referenced “Ilhan’s office” directly. Further emails in March addressed the state’s school food program. Text messages uncovered during a raid on Bock’s home also linked her to Omar’s office.
In a jailhouse interview, Bock described the exchanges as routine and limited. She stated she had never spoken directly with Omar and had only dealt with staff members.
“It was always really general, mostly pertaining to how the department of education was handling applications and the approval or denial of those. There was nothing of any substance pertaining to claims or meal counts or fraud or anything like that.”
But Omar’s connections to the fraud scheme extend far beyond email exchanges.
She celebrated her 2018 primary victory at Safari Restaurant—one of the establishments later convicted of stealing $16 million in the scheme. Campaign finance records show she spent nearly $10,000 at the restaurant between 2018 and 2020. A 2020 video shows Omar inside the location discussing pandemic-related meal programs.
The chair of the Minnesota fraud committee has noted that Omar received donations from several defendants in the Feeding Our Future cases. One individual on that list was a former staffer for Omar who later pleaded guilty to fraud charges.
The pattern raises serious questions. Why would a sitting member of Congress refuse to cooperate with a state investigation into the largest pandemic fraud case in the nation? Why would Democrats block a subpoena to compel transparency?
Conservative lawmakers are calling for federal subpoenas and a deeper congressional review. Some have demanded Omar’s expulsion from Congress if evidence shows she enabled or ignored the fraud.
This is not about routine constituent services. This is about a congresswoman with documented ties—financial, social, and communicative—to a network of fraudsters who stole a quarter of a billion dollars meant for hungry children.
Omar’s silence and refusal to provide documents suggest she has something to hide. Her office appeared in the evidence chain. Her campaign spent thousands at a convicted fraud location. Her former staffer pleaded guilty. Her donors included defendants.
The American people deserve answers. Minnesota taxpayers deserve accountability. And the children whose meals were stolen deserve justice.
If Omar has nothing to hide, she should hand over the documents. If Democrats believe in transparency, they should stop blocking subpoenas. If Congress believes in accountability, they should investigate one of their own.
Instead, we have obstruction, deflection, and silence. That speaks louder than any statement her office could release.
